Introduced to the dark but enchanting club world of New York City at the age of 17, Mike fell in love with the art of DJing in the
club scene. He has always expressed that it's much different from any of the work he did prior to this point, "It's where you can let
go and allow your creative juices to flow and let the crowd feel what your heart feels." Since that moment, the clubs became his
home. When the time came for him to show his skills, he was offered a spot in very important party at The Roxy. Mike never forgets
the feeling of 3,000 people dancing and enjoying themselves with his music and it drove him to pursue other appearances in different
clubs in the city, such as, Fire Island, Cherry's, Ice Palace, Limelight, Roxy's, Chettah, Club Heaven, Liquids and many more rapidly
making his name and skills known to all who searched for the best.
With the understanding that there was much more to be learned and done, Mike began to explore the backstage of DJing: Music Production. He quickly realized he was born for this and dove into a permanent research and studying rollercoaster. He collaborated in work done for many icons who reached platinum status in the latin industry such as: Sandy and Papo, Illegales, Criollo, Joselito... and many more, always creating a fusion between tropical sounds and tribal house music. The result was always material that left people amazed at his talent and the strength of his products. When the time came to take the step to the next level, Mike felt ready and eager to do it. He began work on "Hold Me Closer" with full understanding of what is needed to make people dance and truly enjoy a song from beginning to end due to his experience on both sides of the music world. The outcome? One of the most amazing tribal house tracks in history, and this is only the beginning. He has also brought to us the incredible "Respect Me" featuring Mr. Dee under Loop 128 Records, and is soon to release another sensational contribution to the club world: "Addicted To My Music" featuring Miss Flava. His collaboration with DJ Demarko Centaur Music / Global Groove Records has spun out an incredible remix of Beyonce's "Naughty Girl" that left the crowd screaming for more at the "Soaken Wet Part 4" release party in New York City's Chelsea Piers. Mike Da Wizard also collaborated with Liza Records on Thea Austin's "Broken Wings" , which climbed all the way up to a #12 on the Billboard Dance charts and also contributed his unbelievable drums to Joi Caldwell's "Freedom" which climbed all the way up to #9. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Mike "Da Wizard" is going places and moving fast. He is living proof that hard work and dedication can only lead to flawless results. What is next for this young, edgy producer? Sit tight, he's ready to take you on the most mystifying journey you can ever take. | |
